Inmate has meth, charge results
A 22-year-old South St. Paul man, Christopher Anthony Jones, faces a charge of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree (possession) after a Dakota County correctional deputy found meth in his possession when Jones was being brought into the Dakota County Jail Jan. 26.
According to the criminal complaint, the deputy was assigned to the intake area in the jail and asked Jones to remove his shoes. When Jones took off his right shoe, the deputy noticed a hard, clear substance fall out of it. Jones said it must have been snow. Deputies swept up the substance and placed it in a plastic bag. When asked if he had any more on him, Jones said there was some in his underwear. That was also taken for testing, which confirmed the substance was methamphetamine.
