Information sought on House of Coates robbery
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery that occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 9, at the House of Coates, located on Highway 52 in Coates.
According to Chief Deputy David Bellows, two men entered the club shortly after midnight. The two men are described as white males in their late 30s or early 40s, about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds.
The two men spent a half hour ordering drinks while other patrons were in the bar area. When the others left, the two suspects assaulted the bartender and threatened they had a gun. According to Bellows, the bartender said he never actually saw a gun.
The suspects tied up the bartender and put him in a walk-in cooler. He was not injured, but the suspects left with a safe containing an undisclosed amount of money.
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office immediately began investigating the incident. At press time, no arrests had been made.
