Highway 61 fix delayed until next week
A Minnesota Department of Transportation repair on a recently resurfaced stretch of northbound Highway 61 in Cottage Grove has been pushed back until Nov. 1, the department has said.
This week's high winds and rain forced the delay, according to a MnDOT release. Department of Transportation crews are set next week to begin repairing a joint that failed on the new roadway surface just north of 80th Street.
Northbound Highway 61 will be limited to one lane between the 80th Street and 70th Street exits from 9 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday. Delays are expected during the morning commute as motorists head north to Interstate 494, Minneapolis and St. Paul.
MnDOT is wrapping up a summer-long road resurfacing of Highway 61 through Cottage Grove, from 70th Street to Highway 10.
