Hastings High School hosted a Veteran's Day ceremony Thursday morning to honor those who have served in the U.S. military.

Local veterans were joined by high school students and community members for the hour-long event. The high school's music department performed songs and medleys between speakers.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1210 honor guard presented the colors, and Harry "Tex" Sieben and Lisa Sieben gave a Veteran's Day address. Jarl Olson served as the emcee and narrator, and HHS Principal Mike Johnson gave the closing remarks.

To give the whole event a flare of its own, sparklers and confetti cannons were fired off at the close of the ceremony.
