Hastings Tastings is Tuesday, March 4
The 19th annual Hastings Tastings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. 2035 15th St. W. It is a kick-off event for Minnesota FoodShare Month, a monthly drive to restock the food shelves throughout Minnesota.
Area restaurants/businesses are supplying the food – American Legion Post 47, The Bierstube, Candy Creations by Kelly, Cub Foods, Coborn’s Superstore, Dunn Bros. Coffee, Emily’s Bakery and Deli, Green Mill, Hastings Country Club/3 Rivers Grille, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Perkins Family Restaurant, River Oaks, Rivertown Cakes, Spiral Natural Foods Co-op, The Onion Grille, and Treasure Island Resort and Casino.
Here is the Hastings Tastings Menu, which is subject to change:
American Legion Post 47 – Chicken Florentine with rice Pilaf, and cheesecake bites.
Bierstube – Sauerbraten, Schweine Haxen, Bratwurst, Mettwurst, sauerkraut and spatzle.
Candy Creations by Kelly – Handmade truffles.
Coborn’s – Signature food items.
Cub Foods – DiLusso meats and cheeses.
Dunn Bros – Coffee, regular and decaf.
Emily’s Bakery and Deli – Cheesecake: Black-tie, raspberry swirl, and plain; Chocolate decadence tort.
Green Mill restaurant –Walleye cakes and Montana tenderloins.
Hastings Country Club, 3 Rivers Grille –Apple, chive and cheese salad; Surf and Turf (sliced beef with crab leg mashed potatoes).
Papa Murphy’s – Pizzas: Cowboy, pepperoni, gourmet chicken garlic, herb chicken Mediterranean.
Perkins – French silk pie, macaroons, mini muffins.
River Oaks Golf Course –cherry chicken pasta.
Rivertown cakes – variety of gourmet cupcakes.
Spiral Natural Foods Co-op – spring mix salad with maple balsamic, vinaigrette, cashew spread on tribeca.
The Onion Grille – Surprise.
Treasure Island Resort & Casino – coconut fried lobster.
Silent auction items include Wild tickets, St. Paul Hotel stay, golf passes, Ordway tickets, Treasure Island Resort and Casino stay packets, Mall of America passes, and Chanhassen Dinner Theatre tickets.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the event. They can be purchased online at www.hastingsfamilyservice.org, or at Cub Foods, Coborn’s, Hastings Area YMCA and Hastings Family Service.
The $35 ticket purchase buys nearly 300 pounds of food, feeding a family of five for more than a week.
Many area churches, businesses and groups held fundraisers and food drives to help Hastings Family Service maximize the proportionate match that was received from Minnesota FoodShare and the Feinstein Foundation’s Million Dollar Challenge to Fight Hunger.
