Hastings Tastings is March 1
The 15th annual Hastings Tastings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 1, in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church social hall, 2035 W. 15th St., and is a kick off to Minnesota Foodshare month.
Guests will sample the best that 20 Hastings area food establishments have to offer, from appetizers to entrees to beverages and desserts. Funds raised for the Hastings Family Service food shelf at Hastings Tastings will be proportionately matched by Minnesota FoodShare and the Alan Feinstein Foundation.
Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the HFS Just Friends program.
Anyone interested in donating an item for the silent auction should call Kathe or Laurie at 437-7134.
Advance tickets for Hastings Tastings are $20 advance; they're $30 at the door. Tickets are available at Clothes Closet & More, Coborn's Superstore, Cub Foods, First National Bank downtown, the Hastings Area YMCA, Hastings Family Service, KDWA Radio Station, Merchants Bank and the North American Banking Company.
The following food establishments will be participating in Hastings Tastings 2010 (more may be added):
American Legion Post 47 - menu items not finalized;
Bierstube - sauerbraten, schweine haxen, spatzl with German gravy, sauerkraut and mettwurst;
Chipotle - chips and guacamole, and carnitas canapés;
Coborn's Superstore - cheese, soup and cake;
Creative Confectionaire - dark chocolate and milk chocolate fountains with lots of items for dipping;
Cub Foods - variety of imported and domestic cheese, fruit, crackers and bakery items;
Domino's Pizza - menu not finalized;
DuGarel's - menu not finalized;
Emily's Bakery and Deli - menu not finalized;
Green Mill Restaurant, Bar and Banquet facility - pot roast with gravy, no bone Diablo chicken wings, spinach tortellini and cupcakes;
Hastings Co-op Creamery - white and chocolate milk;
McArthur's Wood Grill and Banquet facility - sweet and tangy pulled pork sandwich with caramelized onion and Gopher Hills bloody Caesar;
McDonald's - coffee, cinnamon melts and apples;
Papa Murphy's - Gourmet chicken garlic, pepperoni, cheese and chicken bacon artichoke pizza;
Perkins Family restaurant - grilled shrimp with broccoli risotto;
Red Rock Cafe - Signature soup (penne turkey) and wrap sandwiches;
River Oaks - chicken wings;.
R.J.'s Tavern on Main - marinated pork and spinach dip;
The Point - will have an entree, appetizer and dessert; and
Wiederholt's Supper Cub - barbecued ribs and shrimp cocktail.
