Hastings swimmers beat Roseville in Suburban East dual meet, 100-84

The Hastings boys swimming team won another Suburban East Conference meet this week, downing Roseville, 100-84.

Hastings led 100-72 following the 100 breaststroke. The Raiders then swam exhibition only in the final event, allowing Roseville to pick up all the points in the last event.

The swimmer of the meet for Hastings was Carter Williams, who had his best time in all four of his events.

Results from the meet went like this:

200 medley relay - team of John Utecht, Thomas Everson, Brandon Underwood and Cal Gergen, first, 1:51.12; team of Kenny Benson, Colby Smith, Elijah Reilly and Aaron McCullough, third, 1:52.69.

200 freestyle - Hunter Sassor, second, 1:59.20; Cole Tipler, fifth, 2:02.43; Cole Scully, 2:11.08.

200 individual medley - Jack VanZee, first, 2:14.41; Reilly, second, 2:19.39; Benson, fifth, 2:25.46.

50 freestyle - Colby Smith, first, 23.94; Utecht, second, 24.71; Stephen Smith, 26.37.

Diving - Vova Tipler, third, 156.30; Benson, fourth, 110.45; Ethan Kimmes, fifth, 105.60.

100 butterfly - Underwood, first, 57.12; Jack Weldon, fourth, 1:02.60; Utecht, fifth, 1:04.68.

100 freestyle - Thomas Everson, first, 51.48; Sassor, fifth, 55.66; Stephen Smith, 57.10.

500 freestyle - Colby Smith, 5:15.01; Underwood, second, 5:23.90; Schmitt, third, 5:30.89.

200 freestyle relay - team of VanZee, Sassor, Tipler and Everson, first, 1:38.13; team of Schmitt, Smith, Weldon and Benson, third, 1:40.34; team of Utecht, Everson, Carter Williams and Bobby Moore, 1:47.90.

100 backstroke - Reilly, second, 1:05.67; Tipler, third, 1:07.83; McCullough, fourth, 1:08.74.

100 breaststroke - Thomas Everson, first, 1:07.32; VanZee, third, 1:10.57; Mikey Everson, fifth, 1:16.26.

400 freestyle relay - team of Sassor, Tipler, Reilly and Underwood, 3:37.56; team of Scully, Smith, McCullough and VanZee, 3:55.53; team of Gergen, Christensen, Williams and Moore, 4:09.85.
