Hastings shooters wins conference title

The Hastings trapshooting team is the 2014 Conference 3AAAAA champions.

Two shooters from Hastings earned top honors in the league, too. The high average male was Michael Wardell and the high average female was Gabbie Riveness.

Among the top 25 female shooters in the conference from Hastings are Riveness, Rachel Stancer Prokop, Miranda McClaine, Claire Baldwin, Grace Holm, Lizzie Karnick, Maddie Weathers, Shelby Baker, Sara Juelfs, Kiera McBeath, Jenna McCabe, Christina Kremer, Riley Utsch and Katelyn Ries.

Among the top 25 males shooters in the conference from Hastings are Wardell, William McBeath, Brendan McCabe, Eli Robinson, Matthew Schmitz, Jacob Robinson, Nick Holm, Garrett Tuin, William Caturia, Sam Latt, Logan Wellman, Matthew Blount and Michael Woodward. 

Overall top 25 males from Hastings are Wardell and McBeath.

Overall top 25 females from Hastings are Riveness and Stancer-Prokop.

Five Hastings shooters are in the overall top 100. They are Wardell, McBeath, McCabe, Robinson and Schmitz. 

“We’ve had a fantastic end to our regular season,” coach Troy Weathers said.

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
