Hastings police name person of interest in robbery case

Hastings police are hoping the public can help them find William Joseph Boldt, 38, who is wanted in connection with the armed robbery that occurred here Thursday morning at the AmericInn Lodge and Suites.

Boldt is the focus of investigators based on surveillance footage captured at the hotel. He is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public.

He is described as a white male, 5'8" tall and 180 pounds. His head is shaved and he numerous tattoos on his face, head and arms.

Boldt is wanted by the Minnesota Department of Corrections as a fugitive from Intensive Supervised Release. He was recently released from prison and "quickly became non-compliant" according to a press release issued by the Hastings Police Department.

Boldt and another suspect made away with a small amount of money after Thursday morning's robbery.

"It is our hope that the suspect in the case can be located and arrested as quickly as possible," Hastings Police Chief Paul Schnell said. "His recent release from prison and suspected involvement in the armed robbery indicates teh very real public safety threat Mr. Boldt represents."

Anyone with information on Boldt's whereabouts should immediately call 911.
