Hastings police identify juvenile male who set fire at Cari Park

The Hastings Police Department identified the person responsible for recently setting fire to the playground structure at Cari Park.

Officers received a tip and followed up on it. That ultimately led to a confession by the 14-year-old male.

The police department has sent the case to Dakota County, asking that the juvenile be charged with felony-level arson. The damage in the case is estimated at just more than $5,800.
