Music festival

The day music lovers in Hastings have been waiting for has almost arrived. The annual Hastings Music Festival is planned for Saturday along the riverfront here.

The show runs from 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Jaycee Park. Tickets are available in advance for $20 or at the gate for $25. Advance tickets are available at Terry's Hardware, Cub Foods in Hastings and online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/412783. Children under 12 are free.

All proceeds benefit Hastings Family Service.

The headliner this year is Eric Hutchinson, whose album "Sounds Like This" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. He has toured with Kelly Clarkson, performed numerous times on the Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Bucky Covington, an American Idol contestant from season No. 5, is also set to perform. His self-titled first album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country chart.

Headliner, also known as Heartbreaker, will also perform with a former lead singer with Santana (Alex Ligertwood) and a former lead singer with Toto (Fergie Frederiksen). Hastings native Patrick Sieben will perform, as will Brook Ellis with Kingsview.
