Hastings golf team turns in low score to win Brainerd Invitational
The Hastings boys golf team won a prestigious tournament in Brainerd last week with an amazing score of 292 – that’s an average round of 73 for the four scoring golfers.
The meet certainly didn’t start the best for the Raiders. Matthew Radke double-bogeyed the first hole and things didn’t look good. It’s safe to say, though, that Radke recovered. He went on to shoot a three-under-par 68 to earn medalist honors.
Sam Otto wasn’t far behind with a 70. He finished second.
Jacob Cooper shot a 74 to place third and Nick Tusa had an 80 to round out the scoring for the Raiders.
Edina finished second with a score of 301 and Forest Lake was third with a 307.
There were a total of 22 teams at the tournament.
