Hastings girls track team places second

The Hastings girls track team placed second out of six teams at an invitational in Richfield recently.

Hastings finished with 108 points.

Richfield won the meet with 187.

DeLaSalle, Minnehaha Academy, Simley and the International School also competed.

Results from the meet went like this:

• 100 meter dash -- Savannah Fultz, ninth, 15.50; Alison Smith, 11th, 16.33; Angela Schulist, 12th, 16.62;

• 200 meter dash -- Fultz, 13th, 31.58; Cassie Rother, 14th, 31.78; Anastacia Gergen, 15th, 32.20;

• 400 meter dash -- Alicia Alverson, third, 1:05.38; Fultz, sixth, 1:08.93; Alicia Beattie, ninth, 1:09.79;

• 800 meter run -- Kirsten Peterson, third, 2:44.41; Casey Hammes, sixth, 2:48.96; Sarah Zeien, eighth, 2:53.31;

• 1,600 meter run -- Maria Yandrasits, seventh, 6:39.46; Kate Doffing, eighth, 6:48.65; Alli Steiner, ninth, 6:50.49;

Chad Richardson

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
