Hastings girls hockey team scores 4-2 upset win over Cretin

The Hastings girls hockey team earned a nice 4-2 win over Cretin-Derham Hall on Tuesday night.

After a scoreless first period, Hastings erupted for three straight goals in the second period.

The first was scored by Kiki Radke, assisted by Laynee Connell. It came at 3:08.

The second was scored short-handed by Sami Claussen, assisted by Radke. It came at 8:26.

Just 90 seconds later, Hastings scored again. This time it was Anna Williams who scored, assisted by Claire Williams.

Cretin scored one goal in the second to make the score 3-1 heading into the second intermission.

Early in the third period, Cretin scored again to make the score 3-2.

Hastings sealed it, though, with a short-handed goal by Radke at 11:49, assisted by Claussen.

Brooke Weber earned the win for Hastings in goal. She had 34 saves on 36 shots.

Hastings had 13 shots on goal in the game.

The loss drops Cretin into second place in the conference behind Mounds View.

Mounds View has a 10-2-1 record for 21 points.

Cretin is now 10-3 for 20 points.

Hastings is in the middle of the pack with 11 points at 5-6-1.
