Hastings girls hockey team goes 0-1-1 in two SEC games

The Hastings girls hockey team is now 6-7-4 in the Suburban East Conference following a week that saw them go 0-1-1.

Hastings lost to Mounds View on Friday, 3-2.

They tied East Ridge on Monday, 2-2.

In the game against the Raptors, Hastings fell behind 1-0 and 2-1 before tying the game late to send it into overtime.

The Raptors took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Sara Pevonka scored her first varsity goal to tie the game. She scored at 12:43, assisted by Kiki Radke.

The Raptors added a goal at 16:20 of the second, though, taking a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.

In the third period, Hastings got a goal with just 35 seconds to play. Radke scored, assisted by Kit Ruedy and Sami Claussen.

Brooke Weber played in goal and made 26 saves on 28 shots.

Vs Mounds View

Hastings lost to Mounds View, 3-2, in overtime. The Mustangs lead the conference with a 15-1-1 record.

Hastings took a 2-0 lead before the Mustangs scored three unanswered goals to win.

Erin Moes scored a power play goal for Hastings at 12:58 of the first period.

In the second period, Natalie Simons scored, assisted by Moes, to give the Raiders the 2-0 lead.

Mounds View, though, scored one goal in the second and one in the third to send the game into overtime. At 6:10 of overtime, Mounds View scored on the power play and got the win.

Weber made 26 saves on 29 shots.
