The Hastings football team earned a huge win on Friday night, beating Cretin-Derham Hall, 34-33, in overtime.

Hastings trailed 27-14 going into the fourth quarter, but the team rallied in the fourth quarter to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Alex Wiese and Brandon McCarthy each had touchdowns in the fourth quarter. McCarthy's came with just 1 minute and 20 seconds left in the game. Hastings had a chance to win the game in overtime, but an extra point sailed wide.

In overtime, Cretin got the ball first and they scored a touchdown with their possession. Cretin then went for a two-point conversion, but Hastings stopped them on that attempt.

Hastings then got the ball and Alex Wiese scored on a two-yard touchdown.

Keegan McIntosh then hit the extra point and Hastings earned the upset.

Hastings is now 2-2 on the season.
