The Hastings High School softball team will play for the state title at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Mankato. Hastings will face a familiar opponent: Forest Lake, a fellow Suburban East Conference school.

Hastings advanced by beating Hopkins, 7-2, in the state semifinal game.

Hastings and Forest Lake played against each other once this season. Hastings won that game, 8-2.

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director.
