The Hastings boys lacrosse team had its season ended by Rosemount last week in the first round of the section tournament.
The No. 3 seeded Irish beat Hastings, 18-1. The Raiders had the No. 14 seed.
"They were definitely the most complete team we had played all season, and one of the best offensive teams in the state," coach Brian Jenson said. "We played them very tough the first several minutes of the game, causing turnovers and keeping them off the scoreboard. Their depth and offensive talent was eventually too much to handle."
Zach Chilson, a junior, played goalie for Hastings and made 18 saves.
"Zach had another great game in net," Jenson said. "He saw more shots than he should have to, but he made some great stops for us."
The lone Raider goal was scored by junior Andrew Cordell. Senior Jordan Burr had the assist. Freshman RJ Martineau led the team with four ground balls, sophomore Brandon McCarthy had three takeaways, and senior Nick Trumble won four of nine face-offs. This was the last game for seniors Nick Baum, Alex Boyer, Mikey Smith, Connor Stoker, Burr and Trumble.
