Hastings ran into all kinds of trouble on the boys basketball court in a game last week against Woodbury. The Royals shot the lights out and, in the process, had no problem with the Raiders. Woodbury won, 94-58.

"They shot the ball really well," coach Chad Feikema said. "They went on a run and there wasn't a lot we could do."

Hastings had three players score in double figures, with Josh Monjeau leading the way. He had 15 points.

"He played exceptionally well," Feikema said. "He's just getting much better about attacking the basket and being able to finish. Despite his lack of size, he's able to get in the lane and get the ball to the basket."

Ellis Williams had 14 and Darius Wilkerson had 10.

Wilkerson was hurt early in the second half and didn't play the rest of the game. Wilkerson was going up for a dunk on a breakaway when a Woodbury player came underneath him and knocked his legs out from under him. Wilkerson landed on his tailbone.

Woodbury scored 53 points in the first half and 41 in the second.

"They just went crazy from three-point range," Feikema said. "They're very quick, and we had a difficult time keeping them in front of us. They're an athletic team. They've played really well against us twice."

Also scoring for Hastings were: Tony Hammes 6, Matt Anderson 5, Aaron Stevens 2, Ben Carlson 3, Mike Hubley 2 and Jake Koenig 1.
