Hastings boys basketball team beats Irondale, 59-39
The Hastings boys basketball team enjoyed a break from their brutal Suburban East Conference schedule this week, taking on Irondale and winning, 59-39.
Hastings led 24-14 at halftime and outscored Irondale 35-25 in the second half.
The Raiders had three players in double figure. They were led by Sam Skoyen, who had 14. Joe Dittrich had 13 and Craig Nielsen had 11.
Also scoring were: Christian Bronner, two; Colin Kummer, one; Ross Dylla, six; Drew Pottinger, seven; Carson Whyle, two; and Brady Gullicks, three.
Hastings is now 6-15 on the season.
Hastings plays host to Roseville at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
Hastings lost to Woodbury on Friday, 86-67.
Woodbury was led by Matt Ambriz, who finished with 28 points in the game.
Skoyen led Hastings in scoring with 16 points. Pottinger had 13 and Nielsen had 11.
Also scoring were: Bronner, two; Zach Wiese, five; Kummer, one; Dylla, four; Dittrich, six; and Whyle, nine.
