Girls hockey team loses pair of SEC games

The Hastings girls hockey team lost a pair of Suburban East Conference games last week, falling to Roseville and Park.

Hastings lost to Roseville on Thursday, 5-0.


On Saturday, the Raiders fell to Park, 4-2.

Hastings has a 5-4 record so far this season.

Boys basketball

Hastings lost to Cretin-Derham Hall last Friday, 65-40.

Cretin jumped out to a 30-15 halftime lead and outscored Hastings in the second half 35-25.

Tony Hammes led Hastings in scoring with 12 points.

Ellis Williams had 10.

Also scoring were: Quintan Weaver 6, Darius Wilkerson 5, Aaron Stevens 3, Ben Knoll 2 and Jake Koenig 2.

The Raiders have a 1-2 record so far.

Hastings plays host to its annual holiday tournament next week. Action begins Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game against Mahtomedi.

Teams from Eastview and Farmington will also be at the tournament.
