Girls basketball team wins SEC matchup
For the first time in years, the Hastings girls basketball team has won a conference game.
On Friday night, the Raiders beat Woodbury, 50-48.
Hastings is now 1-10 in Suburban East Conference play.
Woodbury is now 2-10.
Hastings led 28-22 at the half.
Woodbury outscored Hastings 26-22 in the second half, but couldn’t overtake the Raiders.
Hastings was led in scoring by Hanna Norman, who finished with 19 points.
Krystal Carlson had nine and Sam Schorzman had nine.
Also scoring were Lily Arvidson, four; Brooke Beissel, three; Kayla Denault, two; and Mackenzie Cadwell, four.
Hastings is now 2-13 on the season.
Park and White Bear Lake lead the SEC standings with 9-1 records.
Forest Lake is 10-2.
