Hastings lost a pair of SEC games this week, falling to Mounds View and Roseville.

Against Roseville, Hastings fell 62-34.

The big news in the game for Hastings was the return of Jill Weinzettel, who saw her first real action of the season.

"It was nice to see her back in the lineup," coach Mike Harp said. "I think she gave her teammates some enthusiasm. It was nice to get her back, and she played well. She gave us that scoring inside, and that ability to create her own shot. We're hopeful we will continue to see improvement in our team, now that all the pieces are back together."

Hanna Norman had a strong game for Hastings, scoring 15 points to lead the team. Nicole Hollar hit double figures, too, scoring 10 points.

"Both of them played very well," Harp said. "They were able to get to the basket and get their shots off."

Weinzettel had three points on the night. Also scoring were Hanah Martin (two) and Lauren Thomas (four).

Vs Mounds View

Hastings fell on Tuesday to Mounds View, 76-46.

Hollar led Hastings in scoring with 11 points.

Also scoring for Hastings were: Morgan Tjomsland, two; Martin, two; Norman, seven; Paige Ahrens, two; Kayla Denault, one; Thomas, seven; Lily Arvidson, two; Weinzettel, six; Meleah Hansen, six.
