George J. Brockman Jr., age 68, of Hastings, died unexpectedly Dec. 4, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
George was born at New Trier on Jan. 14, 1941, to George J. and Mathilda (Siebenaler) Brockman. He married Joyce (McDonald) Jan. 18, 1964, in New Trier. George was retired from CF Industries after 33 years of employment. He was a lover of camping and had a passion for bartending.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Jimmy.
George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce of Hastings; daughter, Deb (Tim) Shull of Hastings; sons, Mark Brockman of St. Paul and Brad Brockman of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon; brother, Darold (Dee Dee) Brockman of Vermillion; sisters, Judy Myers of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Karen Balster of Hastings and Beatrice Blackowiack of San Diego, Calif.; also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl, was held Dec. 9 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hastings with interment in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Tom Balster, Randy Brockman, Tim McDonald, Dan McDonald, Paul Linder and Ray Butzler.
