The event coordinator is Karrie Hamilton Williamson.

For more than five years, the church has offered its fellowship hall and local businesses have ensured there would be enough food. The Bierstube funds the meals and Perkins supplies the pies. Volunteers cook, serve and handle the setup and cleanup. About 100 meals are served.

The meal includes roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, vegetables and pie. They are free and open to the community.

Delivery of the meals to those unable to come to the church is an important part of the day.

A voluntary collection of nonperishable food items will be taken from Hastings family Service.

"I knew some who spend the holiday alone - sometimes I did, said Hamilton Williamson. "I went to the church and asked if we could try this."

The church agreed and the business offered their help and food. So did the volunteers.

She needs people who like to cook, set up the table area and then help with the cleanup. She also needs volunteers who will deliver meals.

Reservations for the meals, both at the church and for deliver, are strongly encouraged and can be made by contacting the church office at 651-437-4398. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Hamilton Williamson at 651-253-1256.
