Erin E. (Lynch) Bjorklund, 54
Erin E. (Lynch) Bjorklund, age 54 of Hastings died at home on Nov. 4.
A mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Erin was the embodiment of Irish pride and courage.
When facing cancer, she viewed it, as she did all adversity, as a challenge and not an anchor. Her 8-yr old granddaughter Grace recently wrote, "When I spend time with my Grammie, she makes me feel happy and safe. She always tells me the truth, even when it is hard. She is my hero." She was the most dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She was our Rock.
Erin had a passion for reading and a hunger for knowledge. She frequently boasted that she preferred to exercise her brain rather than her body and was the Queen of Trivia Pursuit. Renowned for her endless wit, Erin loved to engage in political discussions and such conversations with her often became competitive events.
Her career accomplishments include the first woman millwright at St. Paul's Ford plant and a leader in the local chapter of UAW. After leaving Ford, she established herself as an integral and innovative team leader at ConAgra Foods of Hastings, Minn. Her dedicated staff will miss her greatly.
Erin is preceded in death by parents, James and Marilyn (Ella) Lynch; and infant brother, Daniel Timothy.
