Elise Christensen of Cannon Falls died Jan. 12, 2007, at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. She was 85 years old.

She was born May 29, 1921, in Gordon, Wis., the daughter of Earl and Ottilia (Schmitz) Vink. She attended country schools in Wisconsin, and was an eighth grade graduate of Blake School.

She married Alvin E. Christensen May 5, 1955, in St. Paul. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul Eley of Lindstrom, Jeannie Schmidt of Ghent, John Radke of Brookings, S.D., James Huizinga of Weslaco, Texas, David of Cannon Falls, Susan Wallace of Amery, Wis., Kathy Grimm of Portland, Ore., Jane Otto of Hampton, John of Cannon Falls, Annie Nestingen of Hastings, Peter of Vasa and Angela Zimmerman of Kenyon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Deloris Chartrand of Balsam Lake, Wis., Jim Vink of Markville, Wis., Joe Vink of Ducksberry, Wis., Roger Vink of Balsam Lake, Wis., and Marcella Kalning of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Lavonne Fuhrman of Ruthton and Ione Christensen of Tyler; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin on Oct. 27, 2002, daughter Mary Speese, grandson, Nathan, Hokanson, and siblings, Dorothy Dumas, Kathryn Spencer, and Earl, Daniel and Virginia Vink.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 15, 2007, at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay Kythe officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were David, John and Peter Christensen, John Otto, Kory Wallace and Eddie Nestingen. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Eley, Jeannie Schmidt, John Radke and James Huizinga.

Memorials are preferred to the Chapel Fund at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.

The Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
