T-Ball volunteer coaches needed

The Hastings Area YMCA is looking for volunteer coaches for its youth T-Ball program. It will run June 11 through Aug. 4, omitting the week of July 2 to July 8. For more information or to volunteer, contact Brent at 480-4389.

available for 2007

St. John School has openings for grades kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2007-08 school year. The small class size allows a good learning experience for children. There is a waiting list for preschool classes. For more information, call 437-2644 or 437-5652.

selling slide show

A committee of the senior class at Hastings High School has put together a slide show of the senior class over the years -- with baby pictures and senior pictures and some fun things in between, and with quotes from friends.

The show is available on DVD for $20.

Forms can be obtained from the student office at the high school.

Parents needed

for the grad party

The All-Night Graduation Party Committee is still in need of many parents, not just senior parents, but all parents, to help with the grad party. The committee is most in need of parents to help with security, run games, setting up the decorations and games Friday afternoon June 8, and cleanup after the event.

Comcast awards $31,000 in grants

Alyssa Deutschmann, a senior at Hastings High School, is among the 31 Twin Cities-area students to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Comcast Foundation.

The foundation recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service.

Deutschmann will be attending Concordia College-Moorhead in the fall.
