Editorial: Make plans now for 50th anniversary gala
On Feb. 8, the United Way of Hastings will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a big gala at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
It should be quite an evening, with former Minnesota Vikings player and Super Bowl champion Matt Birk featured as the keynote speaker. In addition, we are told there will be great food and live music, and everything will take place in a well-appointed holiday-themed space at the church.
Right now, the United Way is seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsors get six to eight seats at a table and recognition at the banquet, among other perks.
The United Way of Hastings performs a vital role in our community. The money they raise all stays right here to help a number of Hastings-based charities.
We hope to see you there.
