Editorial: Job well done, Hastings police
In December, a Hastings woman went missing from a St. Paul hospital.
For nearly three months her case was cold. That said, officers were still hard at work in Hastings, flagging the woman in a national computer database, obtaining DNA samples and staying in contact with the family.
On Saturday that work paid off when police in Oklahoma made contact with the woman. That flag in the computer popped up, and those officers were quickly on the phone with officers in Hastings.
We applaud the department for doing everything it could to help ensure the woman's safe return to Minnesota, and we are happy to spread the good news of her wellbeing this week because of their work.
