Editorial: Great job, HHS volleyball team
Earlier this season, the Hastings volleyball team worked hard to raise money to fight breast cancer. The now-annual event is called Dig Pink.
This year, we’re happy to report that that team went far beyond previous seasons and raised a total of $6,667.50 that was donated to the Side-Out Foundation.
The members of the team, the coaches and the parents all need to be applauded for working hard to not only be competitive on the court but to make such a difference off the court.
“We like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to the student body, the community and everyone who helped make this event a success,” coach Rita Girgen said this week.
Girgen also wanted to thank the night’s sponsors. They were: Midwest Safety Counselors, Astar Thoroughbreds, Mike and Cara Biskupski, Victoria’s V-Gallery, Green Mill, Me & Julio, Special Tees, Merchants Bank, The UPS Store, Ellsworth Subway, Trophies Plus, Nick Werner DJ, Ken and Stacy McCloud, Hastings Ford, Beck Photography, Hanson’s Hog Roasting, Quality Images, Radke & Mohrhauser and the Pilot House/Boat Drinks.
We congratulate the team for doing good in the community and raising so many dollars to fight the disease.
