Editorial: Good luck to Mari Mellick, new director of the United Way of Hastings

For the first time in a decade, the United Way of Hastings has new leadership. Mari Mellick has been named to replace Tara Donohue Weiss, who stepped down last week.

Donohue Weiss led the United Way through a challenging landscape over the past 10 years, and did an admirable job.

Now the duties of the organization are in Mellick’s capable hands, and we think she will succeed in the new role.

She has worked next to Donohue Weiss for almost four years and was the right choice to lead the organization in the future. We wish her all the best.

As for Donohue Weiss, we are sure she’ll be as successful in her next venture as she was with the United Way. Good luck, Tara!
