Editorial: Congratulations, Las Margaritas
A family-owned business in Hastings took a big step this week, embarking on a major addition to its current site.
Las Margaritas Mexican restaurant on Vermillion Street in Hastings is expanding, and we are excited about the concept drawings we are seeing regarding their new space.
Their work will go a long ways to clean up a site next door to them that had fallen into disrepair.
We applaud their hard work and wish them nothing but the best of luck in the future.
In addition, we write this week about two new business ventures in Hastings -- both of those stories on Page 3A. One is a bait shop and other is a vacuum cleaner dealer.
The fact that Hastings was without a bait shop for any significant period of time was staggering -- with as many avid anglers here, it was surprising that a business didn't pop up sooner to peddle minnows and crawlers.
Judging by these three stories, the business climate in Hastings must be improving. We were eager to report on all three of these successes, and we hope that the established businesses in Hastings will not be shy about letting us know what good deeds they are up to.
