Editorial: Bridge crew shows its thoughtful side
On Tuesday morning, we had the opportunity to tag along as Bill Clothier traveled across the new Hastings bridge, making him the first civilian to cross the big new structure.
What we saw from the workers on the bridge site was heartwarming. They've taken a real liking to Clothier and have treated him well when he shows up on his scooter to watch the progress every day.
In a project as massive as this one, it is easy to forget that real people are making it happen. To think that they are building our new bridge and befriending our residents makes them even more human.
It was a very kind gesture on their part, and we are sure that Mr. Clothier won't soon forget his Tuesday.
