Donate a toy, get free food

At least two Hastings-area restaurants are providing diners with free food in exchange for a toy. Chipotle and King's Place in Miesville have promotions planned for December.

From 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, Chipotle in Hastings will give away a free burrito, burrito bowl, salad or order of tacos for anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy.

From 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, King's Place on Highway 61 in Miesville will offer a similar promotion. Anyone who donates a new unwrapped toy will get a free cheesburger, chips and a beverage.

Both drives are for the Minnesota U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
