Only the newest addition of the building is being torn down. The addition was built in 1974 and has no historical significance. The older sections, built between 1913 and 1946, will remain in place as reuse discussions continue.

It doesn't take long to tear the building down. Crews on site estimated it would only take a couple days before the entire structure was demolished. Once it's done, the debris has to be hauled away and the site graded smooth. The entire project should be done within a couple weeks.

The majority of material in the structure is steel and concrete, most of which will be recycled by Rachel Contracting.
