CVS Pharmacy development moving forward

Email

CVS Pharmacy is making more progress on its plans to build a new store and pharmacy in Hastings.

CVS completed the purchase of the properties on the block between 14th and 15th streets and Vermillion and Sibley streets toward the end of March, said Hastings Community Development Director John Hinzman. Most of those properties are expected to be vacated by the end of April.

CVS has not yet indicated when demolition of the existing buildings will begin or when construction will begin, but the company has indicated to city staff that it would like to be able to open the store this fall, Hinzman said.

The site plans approved by the city show CVS will build a retail store with a pharmacy and drive-thru. The building, drive-thru and parking lot will take up the entire block.
