Crash at 55, Pine injures one
Two cars collided Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 55 and Pine Street, injuring one driver and rendering both cars inoperable.
Hastings police got the call at 8:50 a.m. According to sergeant Rod Risch, one car was headed northbound on Pine Street and was in the process of making a left turn onto Highway 55 when her vehicle was struck by another headed east on Highway 55.
One driver was transported away from the scene in an ambulance.
The Minnesota State Patrol handled the report. The Hastings Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Public information officer Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said that Caroline Johnson, 58, of Hastings, was driving eastbound in the right lane on Highway 55 in a Honda Civic when she struck the driver's side door of Jay Price's Honda Accord. Price was stopped on Pine Street at Highway 55. His light turned green and he had started into the intersection when he was struck.
A witness reported that Johnson's light was red when she entered the intersection.
Johnson was transported away from the scene in an ambulance for minor injuries. She was given a citation for a traffic light violation.
