City pool to reopen Saturday, June 28
Hastings Parks and Recreation Director Chris Jenkins announced today that repairs on the Hastings Family Aquatic Center have gone well and the pool is set to reopen to the public at noon Saturday, June 28.
Jenkins said there were three broken pipes that supply water to the play structure, a broken fitting in the pool water return line (which was repaired prior to this closure) and failed caulking and concrete in the pool water gutters. He estimated the facility was losing about 20,000 gallons of water every 24 hours due to the leaks in the gutters.
