City hosts open house for 2011 infrastructure projects
Quite a few homeowners in Hastings will see improvements made around their homes this year, and questions are already coming in to the city and council members.
The City of Hastings is holding an open house Tuesday, Feb. 8, Wednesday, Feb. 9, and Thursday, Feb. 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the second floor of City Hall this week to answer any questions homeowners may have regarding the 2011 infrastructure improvement program.
The city's engineering department is proposing to resurface four groups of residential roads. The biggest stretch is on 14th Street between Pine and Pleasant streets. It also includes Prairie and Hillside streets between 14th and 15th streets, Hillside Court, View Court, Sun Valley Lane, Honeysuckle Lane, Honeysuckle Court, Blueberry Lane, Blueberry Court, Rosemary Court, 12th Street from Westview Drive to McAuliffe School, Bailey Street from 15th to 17th Street, McNamara Street from Bailey to 17th streets, 15th Street from Tyler to Bailey streets, 17th Street from Sumner to Ramsey streets, Sumner Street from 17th to 18th streets, Florence Street, 16th Street from Florence Street to Highway 61, 11th Street from Walgreens to Tyler Street, Whispering Lane between Pleasant Drive and Fourth Street and Whispering Court.
