City Council:Sewers, subdivisions and ice rink lights
The Hastings City Council will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at City Hall. Council meetings are open to the public. Here's a look at what's on the agenda.
The public will be invited to comment on proposed changes to the on-site sewer ordinance. The changes reflect changes in the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's on-site sewer rules. The new standards mean stricter provisions will be enforced for on-site sewer systems within Hastings.
The owner of the property at 418 Vermillion St. is seeking permission to subdivide the property in order to sell the parts individually. Interest had been expressed by previous bar owners to have outdoor seating on the vacant space, and the owner would like to be able to sell the vacant portion of the property if a future owner also expresses interest.
The Parks and Recreation is looking for authorization to replace lights at the Wallin Park hockey rink this fall. The lights haven't worked properly for some time, despite efforts by the city electrician to correct the problems. Only one bank of lights worked last season. The lights are budgeted for replacement in 2013.
