The Hastings City Council will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at City Hall. Here's a look at what's on the agenda:

The council will recognize the Hastings High School marching band for winning the state championship in mid-October.

A resident is requesting a variance for a driveway to be located on a street rather than the alley as specified by the Original Hastings Design Standards. The resident is also requesting a variance to the corner sideyard setback for a new garage.

A property owner is looking to divide a vacant .85 acre lot into two, creating two buildable single-family lots in the 1600 block of Tierney Drive.

A Hastings photographer is seeking a home occupation permit for her photography studio. The council approved a provisional permit one year ago. The permit had to undergo a one year probationary period before a full five-year license can be issued.

Hastings Chief of Police Paul Schnell will give a presentation on the fleet management initiative between the Hastings Police Department and Dakota County Fleet Management. The two groups have been working together for almost a full year.
