City Council: Garden centers and a front porch
The Hastings City Council will be addressing two main issues at its meeting Monday, Aug. 2.
The first is a second reading and public hearing of a change to the ordinance regarding garden centers. The proposed change would allow seasonal garden centers to operate in parking lots for 180 days rather than 90. The change also removes a requirement that garden centers cease operation by June 30 each year.
Also on the agenda is a proposal for a front porch to be added onto a home along W. Sixth Street. The project is being addressed to the council because it is subject to Original Hastings Design Standard requirements. The Planning Commission voted to approve the plans at its July 26 meeting.
The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2. at City Hall. Click here to view the full agenda, including more information on each agenda item.
