City Council: Catering, strategic planning and a financial report
The next Hastings City Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16. Here’s a look at what’s on the agenda.
A new catering business, Luzette Catering, is requesting a special use permit that would allow it to operate out of the Historic Inn on Ramsey. The inn already has a commercial kitchen.
The council will vote on whether or not to adopt a 2014/2015 strategic plan, which outlines visions and themes developed by the council last October. The strategic plan focuses on the themes of community image, communications, economic vitality, operations and workforce. City staff worked with those themes to identify goals and short term and long term action plans that fall in line with the city’s CORE values. Details on the plan will be presented at the meeting.
Council members will review the 2013 annual financial report. Minnesota state law requires all cities with more than 2,500 residents publish a complete set of financial statements presented in conformity principles and audited by a firm of licensed certified public accountants. City finance staff will present the report.
