Cater, McGinnis to run for school board again
There will be at least one new face on the Hastings School Board after this November's election. When the filing period closed Tuesday afternoon, two incumbents, Dan Cater and Angie McGinnis, and three challengers, Scott Gergen, Russ Rohloff and Herman Fasbender, had filed for the three open positions.
Incumbent School Board member Teresa Moes did not file for another four-year term.
However, Moes might still be on the School Board. She indicated Tuesday afternoon that if the School Board accepts School Board member Dan Greil's resignation next week, she will be applying for his seat.
Greil is expected to resign at the Aug. 21 meeting. He is moving to St. Paul. This position will be filled by appointment. That application process will also be determined next week. Greil has little more than two years remaining on his term.
