Ellen Bergschneider of Hastings graduated from Winona State University in the spring with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, Magna Cum Laude.

McIntosh earns athletic honors

Keegan McIntosh of Hastings earned an athletic letter for outstanding participation on the Coe College men’s soccer team during the 2013-14 academic year.

McIntosh, a 2013 graduate of Hastings High School, is the son of Dylan and Cynthia McIntosh. McIntosh is a first-year letter winner in men’s soccer. The soccer team is under the direction of 12th-year head coach Homer Screws.

Peterson graduates from Wartburg College

Brett Peterson of Hastings graduated with a degree in computer science from Wartburg College.

Samantha Zweerink of Hastings received highest honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for the spring 2014 semester.

University of Northwestern announces dean’s list

Students from Hastings named to the University of Northwestern-St. Paul fall and spring semester dean’s list are Zachary Biermaier, Allison Jacob and Isaiah Langenfeld.

Snyder awarded scholarship from SFM Foundation

Matthew Snyder of Hastings was awarded a scholarship from the SFM Foundation. These scholarships are awarded to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents at Minnesota or Wisconsin employers. Snyder will attend North Dakota State University’s engineering program.

Martin earns Master’s degree

Ashley Martin recently received her Master’s degree in education from St. Mary’s University. She teaches sixth grade language arts at Lake Middle School in Woodbury. She graduated from Hastings High School in 2003 and Gustavus Adolphus College in 2007. She is the former Ashley Riles, the daughter of Doug and Ruth Riles and is married to Logan Martin, son of Dennis and Wendy Martin. They reside in Cottage Grove.
