Ritchie has been chosen as a recipient of the Goldman Sachs Scholarship.
Claire Ritchie, a member of the Hastings High School class of 2011, has been chosen as a recipient of the Goldman Sachs Scholarship at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This year, 10 students from the Dean's List for Outstanding Sophomores will each receive $25,000 toward tuition over a two-year period. Goldman Sachs Scholars will be required to engage as peer mentors for the following year's sophomore seminar classes. This will be a service project that builds leadership and development skills and will reinforce the culture of community practice and peer mentoring at SAIC.
Ritchie works for SAIC's Sullivan Gallery, interns with a sculptor at a Chicago gallery and is active with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. She attends SAIC on a merit scholarship. You can see some of her work on her blog at citizen enigma.tumblr.com.
She is the daughter of David and Leslie Ritchie of Hastings.
