Burr still awaiting surgery
Hastings Minnesota 745 Spiral Boulevard 55033

Hastings resident Scott Burr continues to show improvement a little at a time.

Burr suffered a heart attack two days before Thanksgiving and has been at United Hospital in St. Paul since. Doctors pronounced him brain dead at one point, but he woke up the next day and recognized everyone around him.

He had been battling pneumonia and his kidneys were failing. Those two concerns prompted doctors to delay the installation of a pacemaker and quadruple bypass surgery.

It was hoped the surgery could take place early this week, but after Scott had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic, the surgery was put on hold.

It was hoped he could have the surgery done later this week.

Benefit

The location for the benefit for Scott has changed.

It will now be at the VFW in downtown Hastings.

It will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10.

Prayer tree

H and Z Tree Farm of Hastings donated a prayer tree to the family, and it was placed outside Scott's home at 2204 Forest St. in Hastings. Community members are welcome to leave an ornament on the tree, along with a prayer.
