Burglary suspect stopped by police in Hastings

A suspect who may be connected to a number of residential burglaries ranging from Denmark Township to St. Paul Park was stopped by police in Hastings today, March 11, near the Guardian Angels Apartments between Fourth and Fifth streets.

The stop occurred after a vehicle the person was in was stopped. The suspect is being interviewed by police in Washington County.

"We know there's been a number of burglaries in Hastings and the surrounding area, including the Highway 61 corridor," Chief of Police Paul Schnell said.

There are several persons of interest, Schnell said.

Hastings has worked with a variety of law enforcement agencies on the case.

The vehicle was spotted coming into Hastings from the north and was eventually stopped.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
