Bridge dedication set for 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22

Area residents and business owners are invited to attend a bridge dedication celebration for the new Hastings Bridge, on Friday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. at Hastings City Hall.

The dedication marks the opening of the new four lane bridge spanning the Mississippi River. All four lanes of the new bridge are expected to be opened on Nov. 17.

The new Hastings Bridge features a 100-year lifespan and is the longest, freestanding tied arch bridge on the continent. It is a critical connector within the state’s transportation infrastructure, with more than 30,000 vehicles using this Mississippi River crossing each day.

The event will include a short program with remarks from Hastings community members and leaders, project leaders and elected officials.
